What Is Health Consciousness?


This may come as a surprise, but there are a lot of parallels between the patterns we manifest with money and those we manifest with our health.

When I first learned about "wealth consciousness", I was pretty perplexed myself. What $%*& is that?

Wealth consciousness is the sum total of all of your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes about wealth, both conscious and subconscious.

Because of this, your level of wealth consciousness often dictates how much wealth you are able to manifest and welcome into your life. At the risk of oversimplifying, I’ll say this: people with low wealth consciousness tend to be poor and people with high wealth consciousness tend to be rich. And, usually, people with low wealth consciousness have limiting beliefs that prevent them from attracting more money. Sometimes these limiting beliefs have to do with self-worth (e.g., I don’t deserve to be rich); sometimes these limiting beliefs have to do with societal preconceptions (e.g., Rich people are shallow); sometimes these limiting beliefs have to do with childhood experiences (e.g., If I have money, I can’t also have love).

Similarly, health consciousness is the sum total of all of your thoughts about health, both conscious and subconscious. In the same way as with wealth, people with low health consciousness tend to be in poor health and people with high health consciousness tend to be in good health.

If you are struggling to meet your health goals, you probably need to upgrade your health consciousness. Here are a few steps to help you get started:

  1. Identify your health goals (e.g., lose weight)

  2. Identify your limiting beliefs (e.g., why wouldn’t you want to lose weight? what is a negative outcome of losing weight?)

  3. Replace your limiting belief with new belief that’s in service of your goal (e.g., losing weight is safe, losing weight is fun, losing weight is freeing)

  4. Repeat this new belief over and over and over again as a mantra

In addition to doing this inner work, surrounding yourself with other people who have a high degree of health consciousness will also help you shift your perspective. We learn by osmosis so being around others who think the way you want to think and act the way you want to act is a great starting point.
